Veterans Community Project of Longmont is celebrating our 2nd Annual Holiday with Veterans living at the Tiny Home Village. The Holiday Lighting Ceremony, which coincides with Colorado Gives Day, is our opportunity to celebrate and bring light to the Tiny Home Village in the spirit of the holidays. Volunteers are needed to assist with staffing Santa's Workshop. We will have a workshop for kids to create holiday decorations. There will be a visit from Santa himself. We are all very excited to welcome the entire community to light the way for one less homeless Veteran this year! The event begins at 5:30 p.m. We will switch on the village lights for the Tiny Homes and our Community Center at 7:25 p.m. We need several volunteers to assist in Santa's Workshop. Please consider joining us for this holiday event.

Veterans Community Project Outreach Center is the external piece of our mission. By distributing low barrier services to any Veteran, regardless of time in service, type of service, or discharge status, we are starting a conversation that builds trusts and helps our case managers determine how best to support. Each month the number of food boxes, snack packs, and hygiene kits distributed increases. To keep up with demand, we need volunteers every week to help us assemble snack packs, hygiene kits, food boxes, and to keep our pantry stocked, inventoried, and organized. During an Outreach Pantry Shift, volunteers may expect the following: sort and pack hygiene kits, food boxes, and snack packs; take inventory of newly donated items; move and lift boxes onto shelving; input data into an inventory database; move tall shelving racks on wheels; work indoors while seated. VCP will supply water and other beverages. If volunteers are working all day or over the lunch period, they are encouraged to bring their own lunch as it will not be provided. PARKING: turn west onto Aldine Street from Grand Blvd. Parking is located on the gravel lot to the right of VCP Village. Please secure your vehicle and remove all items. The precautionary measures will go a long way in preventing theft. Entrance: Knock on the double black doors on the northwest corner of the building. If no answer, ring the doorbell located next to the garage door.
