Come and help Veterans Community Project accept donations at our location in Kansas City. 2 shifts available Mondays through Fridays at 8831 Troost Ave. Volunteer will assist, record and inventory donations as they arrive. Volunteer may be expected to lift 10-15 pounds.

If you are an individual that wants to help with maintaining our Tiny Home Village, please sign up here! Volunteer opportunities for the General Public are open every 2nd Thursday and 2nd Saturday of the month. If you are wanting to do a company/group build day, please contact Jordan Clegg at jclegg@vcp.org. Prior construction/maintenance experience is NOT necessary. Tasks will vary each day. Check in and safety presentation starts at 8:00 AM and work will begin at 8:30 AM and go for ~7 hours, with a lunch break. Please bring your own lunch. Shady seating is available at the Village.

Whether you're organizing tools, helping with landscaping, or pitching in during events, your time and effort will help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist with general maintenance, landscaping, and cleaning Support small construction or repair projects Organize tools, materials, and workspaces Help with event setup and teardown as needed Qualifications: No prior experience needed—just a willingness to help Comfortable performing physical tasks and working outdoors Able to lift up to 20 lbs Benefits: Gain hands-on experience in operations and facility maintenance Make a visible impact on the daily lives of veterans Be part of a team that values service, respect, and community

This is a tabling event. Volunteer is expected to stand at the Veterans Community Project table, greet attendees, share resources, answer questions and hand out VCP materials and swag. This is a great opportunity to represent VCP in the community and connect with those who may benefit from our programs. Comfortable clothes with your VCP classic t-shirt, sunscreen and a smile encouraged. Expect a great crowd and lots of fun!

Volunteer will greet Veterans and visitors as the come to the Village Center and will provide hospitality and Fellowship Hall support, administrative and facility support. General Expectations: Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of ALL visitors and Veterans. Report any concerns, needs or issues to the appropriate staff member promptly. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion and respect in all interactions.
