To ensure a safe, respectful, and productive environment for both volunteers and veterans, please review and follow the guidelines below: Confidentiality & Boundaries Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any personal information about veterans or staff. Do not discuss client details outside of the organization. Always respect personal space and boundaries—ask before offering assistance. Professional Conduct Dress appropriately for a professional, public-facing role. Use respectful, non-judgmental language in all interactions. Refrain from using phones or personal devices while at the front desk or during active duties unless necessary for the role. Health & Safety Sanitize your hands frequently and clean shared surfaces as needed. Notify staff immediately if you or someone you interact with feels unwell or shows symptoms of illness. Follow all posted safety protocols within the office environment (emergency exits, fire extinguisher locations, etc.). Workplace Awareness Keep walkways and workspaces clear of clutter to avoid trips and falls. Report any broken equipment, hazards, or safety concerns to staff immediately. Do not lift heavy objects without assistance—ask staff for support. Emergency Procedures In the event of an emergency, follow staff instructions and building safety protocols. Know the location of the nearest exit and emergency contact numbers posted in the building.
